The so-called peace sign or peace symbol is not only found in the peace movement, but is used by many people who want to express their desire for peace. According to Wikipedia, it was „designed in 1958 by British artist Gerald Holtom on behalf of the British Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) for the world’s first Easter march.“

„But the history of the peace symbol goes back many hundreds of years. Few people know that the peace symbol used around the world is actually a rune. It is the symbol of death. A stylised tree growing upwards stands for life or the beginning of life, an inverted tree of life stands for the end.“ (From: „The peace sign is a death rune“, by Magnus Zawodsky)

Dr. Kurt E. Koch (Occult ABC):

At the time of the persecution of Christians in the first century, the „peace symbol“ used today was called the Nero Cross. According to tradition, the Christian-hater Nero had Peter crucified upside down. The „peace symbol“ therefore represents an inverted cross and is a sign of hatred of Christians.

In the eighth century, the Saracens fought against the Catholic Church in Spain. Their warriors had the cross of Nero on their shields when they began their conquest of the Iberian Peninsula in 711. Under the same sign of hatred for Christ, the Saracens fought the Crusaders in 1099.

Throughout the Middle Ages, the cross of Nero – also known as the foot of the Drude – was a symbol of the Black Mass, satanic cults and blasphemy. During these cruel ceremonies of the secret cults, a wooden devil’s grimace was also used, with eyes sculpted to match those of the cross of Nero. Such a wooden image can still be seen today in the Museum of Magic and Satanic Cults in Bayonne (France).

Magnus Zawodsky, „The peace sign is a death rune“:

In Germany today, runes are generally associated with Nazis and neo-Nazis, who use them as a sign of recognition. This is not surprising, as there was a cult of runes in the Third Reich. The doubled „sig-rune“ became the identifying mark of the SS.

Among esotericists in England and America, „rune magic“ is celebrating a renaissance of pagan religions. Self-proclaimed druids use runes to oracle.
