A talisman, amulet<\/a>, or fetish is an artificial object that is believed to have a soul or to be endowed with power. It is worn or worshipped as a protection for personal safety. By wearing these supposed symbols of power and protection, people give them credibility and trust.<\/p>\n

Amulet<\/a> comes from the Latin amulet<\/a>um, meaning to repel. An amulet<\/a> is a power-charged object for protection against magic<\/a>al or demonic danger. Talisman comes from the Arabic tilasmun and the Greek telesma and means firstly completion, consecration, then also appropriation spell.<\/p>\n

Amulet<\/a>s and talismans are all objects and parts from the organic and inorganic world, to which the ancient, primitive or modern man attributes a power charge.
