The aim is to reveal what is hidden in the past, present and future. The Mantic uses certain tools to practise divination, e.g. arrows (Babylonians), drinking cups (Egyptians), entrails (Greeks, Romans), wax tablets (Romans), wooden sticks with runes (Germanic tribes), rock crystals, snow crystals, bones, glass beads, mirrors, cards, palm lines, hazel rulers, pendulums (Europeans). Manticism can be found in all periods of human history. Genuine magical healing methods and diagnoses make use of psychic powers. These magical processes are not just harmless superstition. The fortune teller holds a person&rsquo;s object in his hand and then makes statements about that person. In the Old Testament, too, we have constant warnings not to indulge in this pagan fortune-telling.<\/p>\n<p>Leviticus 19:31: &ldquo;Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Leviticus 20:6: &ldquo;I will set my face against anyone who turns to mediums and spiritists to prostitute themselves by following them, and I will cut them off from their people.&rdquo;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The art of divination is also known as manticism.
